Anjali Ranadivé, the daughter of Sacramento Kings owner Vivek Ranadivé, has resigned as general manager of the G League Stockton Kings.

The team announced the move Friday, saying Anjali Ranadivé has stepped down to pursue a doctoral degree and focus her attention on Jaws and Paws, a nonprofit animal rescue and wolf sanctuary.

“We are grateful to Anjali for her contributions to the Stockton Kings over the past two seasons,” Kings general manager Monte McNair said in a news release. “Under her leadership the team has excelled on the court and is set for success in the future.”

Ranadivé, who has a marine science degree from UC Berkeley, was named assistant general manager in Stockton in May 2022. She was promoted to general manager in June 2023 when Paul Johnson joined the front office in Sacramento. At the same time, Lindsey Harding was named head coach in Stockton, making the Kings the first team in G League history to have two women leading the organization as coach and general manager.

In Ranadivé’s only full season as general manager, the Kings went 25-7, the best record in the league, before losing to Sioux Falls in the semifinals of the G League playoffs.

“I am incredibly thankful to Monte, Lindsey and Paul for the tremendous opportunity,” Ranadivé said. “I would also like to thank our loyal fans and everyone at the Kings organization for their support.”
