Pacifica police catch alleged attempted burglar in the act

(BCN) — A San Francisco man was arrested in Pacifica this weekend on suspicion of attempting to break into several businesses, police said Tuesday.

At about 11 p.m. on Saturday, an officer on foot patrol in the 2000 block of Palmetto Avenue allegedly discovered a man trying to break into a closed business with a 4-foot-long metal fence post.

Officers arrested Corey Hart, 36, who was allegedly caught with burglary tools as he tried to break into two other businesses through a storefront window and glass door. Hart admitted to searching for valuables to sell, according to police.

Hart was arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary, vandalism, and possession of burglary tools. He was also picked up on an outstanding bench warrant out of San Francisco for trespassing and vandalism.
