Peoria man identified as victim of weekend shooting

The Peoria County coroner has identified the man who died in a shooting on Nov. 25 as Deandre M. Blocker Sr.

According to the coroner, the 50-year-old had been shot multiple times and "likely died moments after the shooting." Though EMS and police attempted to resuscitate Blocker, the coroner pronounced him dead at the scene at 10:58 p.m.

The Peoria Police Department had responded to two ShotSpotter alerts indicating four rounds fired at around 9:43 p.m. They found Blocker inside of a residence at the 600 block of East Frye Avenue.

The shooting remains under investigation.
